Brandon Denton – Co-founder, Partner
A Louisville resident since 1998, Brandon graduated with a BA from the University of Louisville. With over two decades of financial industry experience, Brandon entered real estate in 2000. During the 2008 housing crisis, he honed his eye for identifying and rehabilitating distressed properties and began to build the foundation for Denton Floyd Real Estate Group. The growth of the company has allowed Brandon to pursue his dream of revitalizing distressed communities and improving residents’ quality of life.
Brandon has a passion for volunteer work and lives with his 17-year-old son in Louisville. Even outside of work, he contributes to the betterment of the communities around him through his commitment to the DiGiuro Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, and the Louisville Home Builders Association.
Born and raised in Louisville, Tommy earned a BA in Finance and Risk Management from Eastern Kentucky University. After serving as an account executive for Johnson & Johnson for five years, he began his career in real estate with the purchase of a single family home. From this experience evolved a dream to build a leading real estate firm in the city of Louisville to improve the lives of its residents. Tommy has ten years of real estate investing experience in both single/multi-family and commercial properties and a strong partnership with city officials who share his vision. Together with Brandon Denton, Tommy created Denton Floyd to pursue this dream.
Tommy is a Louisville Apartment Association board member and is also Chairman of the Board for the Louisville Apartment Association Political Action Committee (PAC). A dedicated, textbook family man, Tommy resides in Louisville with his wife and growing family.
Mitchell Collins – President, Partner
Mitchell’s background boasts decades working in the capital markets, including unsecured and secured debt, CMBS debt, convertible debt, and preferred and common equity. He also has experience in private equity investments, including joint ventures, separate accounts, and full discretionary funds, as well as the IPO market and private transactions of public companies. Mitchell is Denton Floyd’s SEC reporting requirements guru and keeps us compliant to ensure we’re meeting the highest standards of operation.
Mitchell has participated in projects throughout the U.S., including New York, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, as well as international projects in Canada, England, France, Germany, Belgium and Singapore. He has worked on acquisition, divestiture, feasibility, compliance and valuation projects of more than $10 billion combined, including single assets, portfolio assets and enterprise-wide assets.
Mitchell received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Ole Miss and his Masters in Business Administration from Vanderbilt University, graduating with honors from both schools. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mitchell has also created The Collins Accountancy Scholarships at Ole Miss for minority students in need of financial assistance.
Clayton Pace – Head of Construction, Partner
Clayton serves as Senior Vice President & Head of Construction for Denton Floyd Real Estate Group. He possesses over 25 years of experience in construction, construction management and development. Clayton has owned his own construction company, worked for several large regional construction companies, and joined Denton Floyd as a partner in early 2017. Clayton has directed nearly $750 million in construction projects, including significant expertise in multi-family, commercial and assisted living.
Clayton grew up in Southern Indiana and received his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. Clayton is a licensed GC in Florida, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee.
As the Chief Financial Officer, Adal oversees the financial management of Denton Floyd Real Estate Group. Adal is a well-seasoned veteran in large and complex real estate transactions, having worked for several large regional public accounting firms. During his work tenure, Adal has served more than 250 clients, with a significant amount of this time being involved in complex real estate and construction transactions. He also has owned several of his own businesses along the way. Through his thorough real estate accounting and entrepreneurial experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the Denton Floyd team.
Adal serves on several committees around Louisville including the March of Dimes Commercial Real Estate Achievement Award Committee and the KYCPA taxation Committee.
Adal received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Kentucky and his Masters of Accountancy from the University of Louisville, graduating with honors from both schools. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Kentucky Society of CPA’s.
Brett serves as Vice President of Operations for Denton Floyd Real Estate Group. In 2011 he started his career in real estate with his first rental property after earning a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Miami University’s Farmer’s Business School. Since that time, he has gained a wealth of experience in all sectors of residential real estate. He has worked extensively in the student housing industry with special focus on leasing, marketing, construction, and property management. With specialization in construction budgeting and project management, he has overseen millions in asset rehabilitation.
Brett lives in Louisville with his wife and two daughters who are all avid boaters. When he isn’t in the office or on the water, you can find Brett helping friends and family with remodeling projects, or updating houses around Louisville.
Jody joined the Denton Floyd Team in 2018. Originally from Naples, Florida, Jody graduated from the University of Florida in 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Jody moved to Louisville in 2006 and shortly thereafter began her career in property management. Jody has served in various capacities during her real estate career including property management, finance and accounting, compliance and training, asset management, and customer relationship management. She has worked with clients with portfolios ranging from 1 single family house to over 1000 units.
Jody lives in Louisville with her husband and their 2 dogs. When she’s not in the office, you can usually find her at the gym or cheering for her beloved Florida Gators.
Charlie Cai – Corporate Controller
Charlie joined Denton Floyd in 2016 as a Staff Accountant and quickly climbed the ranks to Corporate Controller. After receiving his Bachelor of Science in Economics from South China University of Technology, Charlie moved to Lexington where he attended the University of Kentucky earning his Master of Science in Accounting. Shortly after graduating, Charlie passed the CPA exam.
Charlie enjoys serving his local community through volunteer work, hiking, reading, and hot yoga.
Shahana Reese- Construction Controller
Shahana has been a part of the Denton Floyd team since 2015. She began her career as a Staff Accountant and was promoted to the position of Corporate Controller with the growth of Denton Floyd’s Construction and Development Division. Originally from Cincinnati Ohio, Shahana moved to Louisville to attend the University of Louisville, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Louisville with a double major in Accounting and Finance. Shahana’s quick wit and fierce personality add great value to the Denton Floyd Family.
When Shahana is not at busy at work, she enjoys spending time her daughter and friends.
Armando Chavez-Caballo Crossing
Armando has worked in the property management industry since 2005 after he and his family relocated to Kentucky. He began his career as a leasing agent and has worked as an assistant manager, property manager, and area manager joining Denton Floyd in 2018 as a Property Manager. Armando holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Georgia State University.
When he is not busy at work, Armando loves to spend time with family, outdoor activities, camping, swimming, dancing, grilling or barbecuing. He also enjoys science fiction, action, thriller and drama movies. Armando likes to smile and talk to people from different cultures.
Charity Cravens-Triple Crown and The Pines
Charity has worked in the property management industry for over 21 years. She began her career in her late teens as a leasing agent and has worked as an assistant manager, trainer, compliance manager, property manager, and regional manager in her home state of Texas. She joined Denton Floyd in 2018 as a Property Manager after she and her family relocated to Kentucky. Charity holds certifications as a National Apartment Leasing Professional, Certified Apartment Manager, and Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor.
Like a true Texan, Charity loves adventure and the great outdoors. She and her family love to fish, scuba dive, and take care of the animals on their small ranch outside of Lexington.
Carolyne came to Denton Floyd in 2015 with 10 years experience in property management. Specializing in multi-family management, Carolyne has seen great success in taking struggling assets and raising both occupancy and revenues while consistently keeping overhead and turnover low. She takes great pride in helping people find places that they can truly call Home.
A master chef, with over 300 State Fair ribbons to prove it, Carolyne enjoys cooking competitively, gardening, and remodeling her home.
Sylvia began her property management career over 27 years ago in Houston Texas. Beginning as a leasing consultant, she quickly climbed the ranks to bookkeeping, assistant property manager, and eventually property manager, within 2 years of entering the industry.
Sylvia and her husband moved to Lexington in 2009 to be closer to family and in 2014 she joined the Denton Floyd Team.
Property management is her passion. Her love of being around people and open door policy means you will usually find a resident chatting over coffee when you visit her office.
Sydney Graham-Park Chateau
Sydney has worked for Denton Floyd since April 2016. She began as an Office Assistant at Patriot Crossing where she quickly worked her way up to Assistant Manager and is now the Property Manager at Park Chateau (the BEST value in Old Louisville). Originally from Richmond, Kentucky, she moved to Louisville in 2010 after graduating high school to pursue her undergraduate degree at UofL, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science as well as a Certificate in Peace, Justice, and Conflict Resolution in 2014. Most recently, she received her Masters in both Public Administration and Urban Planning.
As a newlywed, she enjoys time at home with her husband and three “children”, Luna (cat), Lola (dog), and Tony (hamster), going to the movies, shopping, or working out at Cycle Bar. She is also an avid sports fan so when she is not working, you can catch her at UofL games or watching her treasured Steelers work on another Super Bowl win.
Tracy Kiser-Tates Creek Crossing
Tracy has been a part of the Denton Floyd team since 2017 as serves as the Property Manager at Tates Creek Crossing and has worked in the property management industry since 2008. She began her career as a leasing agent and has worked as an assistant property manager, and property manager. Tracy loves being a property manager, it is not a job but her career and passion.
Outside of work, Tracy loves taking care of her little family and making memories with them, especially with her nephew whom she adores. Like a true native Lexingtonian Tracy bleeds blue for the Kentucky Wildcats!
Maggie Kramer-Bridgepointe Crossing
Maggie is the community manager at Bridgepointe Crossing in Jeffersonville Indiana. As a long term Jeffersonville resident she has been in property management for 29 years here locally. She has a passion for her residents and strives to make her community a place to be proud to call home. Maggie is an avid animal lover and is looking forward to installing a new dog park on her property.
Fabiola Martinez-Thoroughbred Crossing
Fabiola began her career in property management in 2010 as a leasing agent and quickly rose to the position of property manager by 2013 and joined the Denton Floyd team in 2015. Having lived in Lexington for over 18 years she is extremely knowledgeable about the area and uses that to keep her property running smoothly and her residents happy.
Outside of work, Fabiola loves spending time with her husband and children.
Amanda Mize-Sprowl Meadows/Hampshire House
Amanda started with Denton Floyd in May 2012. She started as the receptionist at our 4th St Corporate office before her journey to Property Manager began. She spent time with some of Denton Floyd’s greatest properties such as the renovation of Edison Park, assisting as Tenant Manager at Cornerstone Lofts and DF other properties. Most of Amanda’s experience comes from her years as Assistant Manager of Patriot Crossing. In September 2015, Amanda was given the opportunity to shine by being promoted to newly acquired properties, Sprowl Meadow s and Hampshire House Apartments as Property Manager. She has since established a great team and has truly taken those properties forward.
Outside of the Denton Floyd offices, Amanda is a mother of 2 boys, ages 9 & 10. When they aren’t busy with work and school, you can find the Mize family hitting the road! Traveling, camping, and visiting loved ones are very important to this little family!
Sarah Palumbo-Patriot Crossing
Sarah is the community manager at Patriot Crossing Apartments in Louisville, Kentucky.
A results oriented Property Manager with over 16 years of rental property management expertise in diverse work environments, Sarah has been employed with Denton Floyd for 5 years. Sarah and her team have brought Patriot Crossing to new levels of success and continue to promote positive community and economic growth in South Louisville.
Sarah resides in Louisville with her husband and 3 children.
Forrest Harrison-West Louisville
Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Louisville, KY, Forrest R. Harrison has over ten years of experience in the housing industry. After working in student housing at the University of Louisville, Forrest chartered new territories in the world of multi-family housing. Working alongside industry veterans, Forrest has been able to lead in projects such as community rehabilitation, lease-up, and new construction. In 2017, he joined Denton Floyd as part of the Scattered Housing team and now manages the West/South Louisville division. While focusing on resident retention, he constantly reminds his team of why we do what we do—and that is to provide quality service, maintenance, and a true sense of community. “Retention starts at the first point of contact” -FH
When he is not in the office, Forrest enjoys traveling and designing homes.
Phillip Williamson-Old Louisville
Phillip Williamson has been in property management industry since 2010. He began his career as a resident assistant at the University of Louisville’s Betty Johnson Hall. Later he became a leasing agent in Atlanta, Georgia while attending the Art Institute of Atlanta studying to get his degree in Art/Fashion Design. Phillip joined the Denton Floyd team as an Assistant Property Manager in 2017. He was soon promoted to Property Manager of the Old Louisville Housing division where he oversees multiple properties in the Old Louisville and NULU areas. Phillip attended The University of Louisville where he majored in Early Childhood Education and became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity Inc.
Outside of Property Management, Phillip, a Louisville Native and youngest of four, is an artist known for his wall murals which can be seen in many homes across the US. He is also a freelance wardrobe stylist and his work has been featured in many publications; his most recent work was assisting with the fall fashion spread for Louisville’s The Voice-Tribune Magazine September 2018 Issue.
